Yogurt is a fantastic ingredient in face and hair masks! The vitamins, minerals and fatty acids moisturize, refresh, cleanse, and nourish the skin. Moreover, the probiotics in it have healing, anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties. Keep in mind that only the original, authentic yogurt has such beneficial characteristics and its substitutes (plant-based yogurts) will not do the work. However, you can use any kind of original recipe yogurt- sheep, cow, goat yogurt, as it can be either low or high in fat. Whichever you have in your fridge!
In this article, you will find 4 yogurt recipes for face masks, which you can make easily at home with affordable ingredients!
Let`s get started!
For oily, acne-prone and sensitive skin
This mask drains the excess sebum from the skin and makes it smooth, refreshed, and moisturized.
Ingredients needed:
- 4 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 tablespoon castor oil
- 1 tablespoon instant oats
How to prepare it?
Blend the oats until they become a fine powder. Put them in a jar or a glass and add the yogurt and the castor oil. Mix well until everything is combined. Distribute the mask evenly on the face with circular motions, and be careful with the eye area. Leave for 20 minutes and wash away with warm water (using circular motions). For best effect, repeat the treatment once a week for a month.
For dry, sensitive skin and sunburn
It will moisturize and deeply nourish the skin, as at the same time will strengthen the lipid barrier of the epidermis.
Ingredients needed:
- 5 tablespoons yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey
How to prepare it?
Mix the two ingredients well and massage the mask on the face. Leave for 15-20 minutes and wash away with lukewarm water. You will feel the positive effect right after the first use! Your skin will become smooth and soft and will not feel tight at all!
For deep cleansing
It removes the dirt from the pores and diminishes the damage from free radicals. It is excellent for both oily, dry, dehydrated and aging skin. If you have sensitive or reactive skin, I do not recommend this mask, as one of the ingredients (aspirin) may cause irritations.
Ingredients needed:
- 3 aspirin tablets
- 3 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 tablespoon honey
How to prepare it?
Crush the aspirin with a spoon until it becomes a fine powder. Put it in a clean container and add yogurt and honey. Mix well, until the substance becomes homogenous. Apply the mask on clean face and leave for 20 minutes. Wash with warm water, and once there is no mask residue on your face, massage the under-eye area, the cheeks, the forehead and the jawline for 2 minutes with circular motions. This way, the blood, and lymphatic circulation will improve.
For clean and tight pores
With this treatment, the pores will become less visible, and you will feel them smaller and cleaner.
Ingredients needed:
- 4 tablespoons yogurt
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour (it shouldn’t be self-rising or flavored)
How to prepare it?
Mix the two ingredients together until they turn into a paste. Apply the mask generously on the face and wait until it dries (about 30 minutes). Wash the residues with warm water and immediately rinse the face with cold water to close the pores. Enjoy your deep cleansed face!
