Melanie Betz is a registered dietitian, certified in both renal and geriatric nutrition.
She currently works at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she provides nutrition counseling to kidney patients. She primarily works with patients suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease and kidney stones. Moreover, she shows a special interest in Polycystic Kidney Disease.
Melanie's research interests include CKD diet education, plant-based diets and frailty and she is passionate about making kidney-friendly eating approachable, easy and delicious!
She enjoys volunteering on the Executive Committee of Healthy Aging Dietetic Practice Group and with the Illinois Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation.
In her spare time, Melanie enjoys trying new recipes or restaurants, wine tasting and cheering on the Michigan State Spartans!
